Onward Bound!

I once again profoundly apologize for the delay which was obviously much longer then I expected.

More computer problems, my work, my sister getting her college applications done online, my mom running her ebay store, my play, and the fact I was ill all last week sucessfully contributed to my promise of more Idol on the 11th going no where.

I have a list of 32 and after Project Runway airs tonight I will fight tooth and nail to have enough time to annouce the top 32, split you guys into groups, and have the contests up.

They will last two weeks due to the fact of the delay,so people will not be shocked and slighted by the event. However, if a contestant does not enter a song into their correct group after the first 10 days, I reserve the right to bring in a previously eliminated contestant to replace them.

If there is anything I can do, please comment and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Top 32 Delayed Even More

Directly after I posted the last message I tried accessing the website, however my internet seems to be unable to reach it.

I thus have to wait until I can get to a computer where I can get to the site to annouce the top 32.

58 Remain

I've narrowed the group down to the top 58 particpants. Tonight I'll cut 10 beofre splitting you into 3 groups of 16. Tomorrow, one group will be cut, the remaining 32 will be split into 4 groups of 8 and round three will begin. It will last one week, and only the top two vote getters from each group will move onto the top 12. The 12 who rank third through fifth in this round will be put up to be possible wildcards, from which the judges will choose the actual 8 wildcards to compete next week.

The Hollywood Round Begins!

Well round 2 has begun!

The remaining contestants have only 5 songs to choose from which'll heat things up a bit. I'm going to try to contact the Idols and put a full list up here, but for now if you're Sim Idols friend you can go ahead and enter a song.

The contest description compression left me with literally bare bones of how round 2 will work. The real lowdown is this: Everyone will sing, the 5 judges will judge, and 32 will move on to the next round where the public will begin voting. We're really looking for unique singers, and not people who sound just like the original.

So within the next couple of days look out for...waaaaaaaaayyy too many performances of Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Build Me Up, Buttercup, and Baby Love. Notices sent out to the remaining idols, and maybe even another judge reveal!

There is a lot of work to be done, and we here on the Sim Idol blog will cover every minute of it, from botched performances, to Idols gone wild. It'll be an interesting two weeks, and we'll be here every step of the way.

Judge #2 Axed

Alottapeoplecantsing turned out to be a bit too outrageous, and is now no longer a judge.

Her replacement, along with the third judge will be annouced soon.

Her unpredictable behavior has certainly already brought life to the competition.

I originally had all 18 audition videos on the blog but realized that none of them would play.

ElliottH
Elliott is a Mensa-qualified aspiring writer who is not new to the reviewing gig: He wrote for the popular casual gaming website jayisgames.com last year for a month and is constantly critiquing anything and everything in his blog. He's a complete reality tv junkie and decided to start Sim Idol to see just how talented the singers of SingShot/TSOS are. He says the judge he most closely relates to is Randy "Although I really wish I was a Simon, I don't have the guts to be rude to people I don't know." and thinks he'll bring a balance of ideas on how the singers should improve, and support.

Welcome to the Sim Idol Blog!

Sim Idol started Sunday, September 23rd when ElliottH and LucasG discovered The Sims On Stage. The auditions started minutes afterwards, with the full development finished that night.

Sim Idol auditions would last 1 month before narrowing the canidates down to a Hollywood round where they would go through a second cut to find the Top 32.

From this group, the public would narrow the 32 down to 12 who must perform songs each week based upon a theme, with the lowest vote getter going home until only one remained.
